KAYLA ALFRED

About my teaching style:

I have done extensive training and research into yoga so that I can confidently teach yoga to every [space] body regardless of history or ability. My goal is to help students to find their ideal alignment not by how it looks from the outside but how it feels on the inside. Each pose taught has an intention and it may be achieved by looking drastically different from the person next to you. All folks in my classes are welcome and are encouraged to meet their bodies where they are each day. Rarely will I tell you to work harder, more likely to ask you to work softer, “do you need to push more today or do you need to rest?” not to always suggest the easy option but to give yourself what you NEED. Sometimes we need to push and work and prove to ourselves that we can do hard things. Sometimes things are hard enough and we need to give ourselves an opportunity to let go of pressure and let the weight of the world fall from our shoulders, even if it’s only for an hour.  That is what I’m here for, to help you figure out what you need and offer options to help you get what you need.

Haven Weekend Retreat

January 23 - 25, 2026

This weekend is an immersion into yoga. Body. Mind. Spirit. The practice of yoga is often a haven to practitioners from daily issues. We get out of tune with ourselves and the world around us, here we will tune in again. A strong focus will be placed on the roots of yoga as guided by various translations of the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and branching out into various styles of yoga practice to help you find what works best for you. Each participant will also receive one online follow up yoga therapy appointment to check in after the retreat and see how the practices are integrating into daily life. Saturday Night the group will unwind with a 90 minute Sound Bath.
