Restorative Yoga

This class is designed with gentle floor based sequences using bolsters, blankets, and props that support the practitioner to fully relax the muscles, slow down the mental activity of the brain, shift emotional patterns, bring ease to the breath, and tune into the nervous system’s healing capacity; using asanas, breath, guided meditation and stillness.  This class is perfect for any age or level student.

Restorative yoga can help us reconnect with our Parasympathetic Nervous System and strengthen our ability to move between states of stress and rest with more ease. By helping us learn to relax, restorative yoga can also reduce the production of stress hormones (cortisol and adrenaline), improve the function of our immune system, reduce muscle tension, help with insomnia, and so many other vital benefits.

In that depth of rest we hope you find so much healing on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.

  • Accessible to all bodies. All levels.
  • Covid-19 Safety Protocols in place.
  • Pre-registration is recommended. Classes with zero registrations 2 hours prior to start time will be cancelled. Drop-ins are welcome for classes that have registrations, but are not guaranteed.
  • Zoom link provided with registration. Option to attend in person or via Zoom for all classes where a link is provided.
  • Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to class start time to guarantee enough time to read and sign waivers and get acquainted with the studio.
  • 2 hour cancellation notice is required (by email: info@sunpeaksyoga.ca). Class credit may be extended for timely cancellations. No refunds.
